Many believers in magick, believe that the Earth has passed through many ages--now we are in either the "space age", or the "age of synthetics". Anyone who takes a serious look at the famous Belle Epoque, which came to be as a result of the industrial revolution and lasted until the beginning of WWI, would truly be in for an education in sorcery as a science(--just check out all the inventors and their wonderfully delightful inventions--their horseless motor chariots, their "hermetically lighting bulbs"--the phonograph, the creations of Nikola Tesla--and tell me that you do not get a serious glimpse of Magic and Science being one and the same).
Our fascination with our scientific ability is an apt definition of magick. Physics makes the world work, but every "magical age" births it's own physics, and it's own sorcerical application of the same!

The world is not scientific; science studies the world to see how it works. Magic does not work, and it has been tested over and over again.

My TV is magic, it takes invisible energy out of the sky and makes pictures and sounds from it, oh and I can talk to someone half way around the world just by talking into a magical black box, my phones black.
Magic is every where.

I think that the world is a mix of both. Think how closely both are related.
A lot of "magic" goes back to basic science, such as alchemy.
And there is science in magic - such as moon and sun cycles, star constellations etc.
The two co-exist.
There are only theories as to why the world works. Because can you imagine how much chaos there would be if you stopped it working to try and prove a theory!! nightmare......

The world works because of the cumulative power of everything in it. Nothing magical in it. Science relates to the systematic study of how the world works. i e the universal law.

Beliefs will be beliefs and will be believed. Whether or not you do. If you don't believe, you still believe in the 'not'. But the world will be what the world will be, and work how it wants. It cannot be controlled. It always has, and we as beings just happen to live on it. And no shaman, nor scientist can argue that. :)
