If so, then why the flap about not agreeing with the President's policies and handling of the war?

I totally agree.
I am licensed to carry a firearm, and a practice free speech as much, if not more than most.
Freedom comes with responsibility. If I were to shoot someone I have to be willing to deal with the ramifications of my actions, guilt, second guessing, lawsuits, trail and possible jail time (if not justified).
If I practice free speech I open myself up to other types of ramifications, disagreement, arguing, debate, name calling and ostracization.

I don't understand what, if any, point you are trying to make here.

The government isn't stopping your freedom of speech, is it? Are people being sent to jail for not agreeing with the president's policies or his handling of the war? I don't think so.

If you're complaining that other people are exercising their own rights to freedoms of speech and giving you criticism about your criticisms, then that isn't a violation of your rights.

Absolutely, but we have every right to believe you are incorrect in feeling that way. What's more, when thing are bent and twisted to the point that it is ludicrous, such as blaming Katrina on Bush, we have every right to tell you you are off base. When we hear the same garbage time after time, we get a bit Irate and so our responses get a bit testy sometimes. When people like Ted Kennedy complain about two systems of justice, one for the rich and powerful, one for the average man, we think outrageous hypocricy.

You have every right to your opinion and every right to voice it, but please don't be surprised or deny anyone their right to disagree with you and to voice that disagreement.

You have freedom of speech. You do not have freedom from hearing things that piss you off. The flap about not agreeing with the President's policies is called freedom of speech. The flap deals with responsibilities. Lefties never like the word responsibility, but freedoms come with responsibilities, and that includes supporting our troops who gave you that freedom and continue to fight for it. War protesters give aid and comfort to the enemy, who are heartened by their words and continue to fight and kill our soldiers.....who continue to die for those freedoms some take no responsibility for.

right to bear arms generally pertains to individuals.as does freedom of speech. both are guarenteed to the point that you do not infringe upon the rights of others. you have the right and responsibilty to ask questions and challenge policies based on facts not heresay or partisan rhetoric. it is ok to disagree even when you are wrong.

Clearly this president is a fascist. He doesn't even have the guts to face the voice of dissent. People are being arrested for protesting in his view or in view of the cameras. Check this out.

Just as you have the right to voice your opinion about Bush and the war, the Cons have the right to voice their opinion of you and what they think about your opinions.

You are correct. I've been slammed for my stance with regards to illegal immigration and have even been called a racist. My own father is Hispanic and American Indian and that would be going against my own blood.

Both rights are of equal importance.

Correct. I don't care if one doesn't support our President and chooses to voice their displeasure about him out loud everyday.

Just love America, the country.

Neither right gives you the right to do harm.
When our political leaders say stupid things they encourage the enemy to keep fighting.
