Josias Erbprinz zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, was one of the earliest members of the SS and one of the first royal lineage to join the SS, was an SS-Gruppenfuhrer, or Major General, married to one of the sisters of the Grand Duke Nikolaus von Oldenburg. Josias was the eldest son of the last ruling prince in Waldeck, the nephew of the King of Wurttemberg, and the Dutch queen. Was known as the Epitome of an SS Officer and had a very close relationship with Heinrich Himmler.

Yes some relatives of the British royal family were serving in the SS (Princess Michael of Kent's father), the Wehrmacht and the Luftwaffe.
The British Royal Family has more relatives in Germany then in Britain because they are of German origin.
