The lady sends the message like so many before her, that if you have money, the easy route is just to get plastic surgery, lipo and gastic bypass surgery...What ever happened to eating right, and exercising?!

She seems a bit fake to me. She should have been honest from the get-go. That's impossible to lose that much weight in so little time. The only way was the bypass.

`I blame her for not coming out right away with it but in her explanation, she was afraid it would have been viewed as a quick fix, which she states it was not. I am no great fan of Star but I will give credit where it is due. She indicated that she had been under a doctors care especially after her 40th birthday when she packed on an additional 75 lbs. She underwent the 1 year counseling that needs to be done prior to getting gastric bypass. During that time, diet and exercise are also tried but if it does not work, then the surgery would be next option. Star went from overweight to morbidly obese and with her past health history of a cancerous tumor on her chest when she was in her early 20's she did not have the luxury of trying for an additional 2 or so years to try take the weight off.. Her immune system was already compromised and being obese made it even worse and made her closer to death that she should have been.
Gastric bypass is not really a quick fix because after a time, if the unhealthy eating habits are picked back up, the person will regain the weight all over again. Look at Al Roker and Carnie Wilson. They both packed on some pounds after losing massive amounts of weight due to gastric bypass.

I'm not a huge Star Jones Reynolds fan. I think she can be somewhat obnoxious, but I do think that Star Jones is a much better role model than Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Brittney Spears combined.
Why? Well, at least Star went and got herself an education (she was a lawyer by profession before she got into television), she also has other worthwhile and valuable career and life experiences, too.
Think about it: what have any of those other airheads done other than constantly draw attention to themselves with their stupid lawbreaking and immoral antics? Heck, at least Star remembers to wear her panties, and knows how to act like a lady in public!!! Also, you don't see Star Jones hopping in and out of rehab like those other out-of-control chicks.
Besides, if you read her story you'd KNOW she had tried conventional methods for losing the weight. I don't think it was "easy" for her to make those choices...or admit to those choices...and I don't think anyone has the right to judge her. MILLIONS of women worldwide have done what Star did, so why are you singling her out????
The sad thing about society today is people are so shallow, looks obsessed and petty. Everyone is too busy listening to the "sizzle" and not paying attention to the quality of the steak.

she's very hideous looking. I'd never want her as role model for my girls. the only thing she encourages is having a ugly halloween costume to wear all year round.
