Sparingly...but as one word.
Not a word in vogue these days. Trying to use it daily in normal talk would be a challenge. You could use it easy enough just by saying so and so is so vainglorious every day, but other folks would probably look at you funny and think you were very pretentious.

I've never seen this as a single word before, I was about to correct you on its use. I suppose its a little like bombastic.
My vainglorious brother spent ten minutes preening at the mirror!
