I'm only 25 and I heard that if you start your period on early age that you menopause early too, I started mine at the age 10... I've been feeling very moody for the past 3-4 months, my period every month is just very unpredictable, there are months that are very heavy that would last up to a week and a half and there were a few months that I would skip for the whole month, I'm really worried because I'm not trying to have any kids any time soon and if I am menopausing this early that I would like to know so I can start planning having more kids. Can a doctor be able to tell me when I'll start menopausing by running test or something???

It is rather early for you to be going into the perimenopausal period, I would suspect PMS first. But a doctor can test your estrogen levels and tell you if indeed it is the start of menopause. Simply fixed by taking a low dose birth control pill. You may also want to do some research into DHEA, it made a huge difference for me in my transistion into menopause.

Most women experience menopause in their late forties or early fifties, although it is normal for menopause to occur anytime between the ages of 40 and 60. The most common symptoms reported by menopausal women are hot flashes (70%--85%) and vaginal dryness (45%).

I would suggest you see your doctor and discuss your irregular periods and your concerns. Your doctor can check your hormone levels and let you know what is going on.

You may want to go on hormones to regulate your period.

It could be perimenopause. The years before actual menopause. I am going thru that now..Ugh! Long heavy periods. Unpredictable and missed periods. Moodiness! But only a doc can tell for sure. Go have hormonal tests done. You could be just low on estrogen or progesterone. Birth control pills can regulate your periods sometimes.

yes they can run test. but to be honest ask your mom when she started going through it. a daughter most of the time follows her mother in that. if she was 45 then u will be. but premenopause is something that can last 5-10yrs... menopause is when u have no periods for 1 yr..

A more likely explanation for your symptoms than menopause is just that your hormones are badly out of whack. As with any medical problem, you should always see your doctor. Good luck :)

It could be your hormones. I suspect that. You need to make an appointment to have your hormones checked.

If you are on a pill or injection, that could be the culprit to imbalance your hormones. I knnow it from experience. Read more in the page below.
