It's a colloquial form of isn't or aren't. It is not used formally ("ain't" ain't a word is what English teachers used to say). You can say it when you want an informal, slightly country, manner of speaking. Using it is sometimes an unstated rebellion against education or being proper. It is often used for rhetorical questions (questions to which you do not expect to get an answer from the listener). Since it is improper to use ain't anyway, often a sentence containing ain't will have other grammar errors (especially double-negatives) as well--perhaps on purpose.

I don't know where you live, but where I live (southern Illinois) we use it all the time (and not just the hillbillies). A grade school teacher answered this once for us (don't ask me how I still remember this at 26). "Ain't", as it is spelled, is a contraction just like don't, isn't, aren't. It's kind of a multiple word contraction. It's a combination of are-is-not. Strange but true.

It is a slang variation of negatives such as "you aren't going" becomes "you ain't going" or " I am not" becomes "I ain't".Mostly used in the south.

Ain't mean "am not", or "is not".
Example: I ain't stupid. He ain't stupid.
8 can be used as a part of a word.
Example. It is great. It is gr8.
