To me, gameplay is the number one thing I look for in a great game. Since I mostly play RPGs, replay value isn't that important, because I would've already sunk 100+ hours into it. Addictiveness and fun value are both a part of the gameplay, in my opinion. Multiplayer isn't important to me at all. Great graphics are a plus, but I'll take a game with crappy graphics and great gameplay over a game with slick graphics and boring gameplay. A great storyline makes for a great game, because it makes it more immersive.

I'd have to say fun and innovative gameplay. Good gameplay lends itself to replay value, addictiveness, and fun.

Secondly, I'd say story. A lot of RPG fans will agree with me that the story line is the main reason you're going to sit through a 30 - 40 hour game.

As for graphics, I think the industry (and gamers) have put too much emphasis on graphics for the past several years. There are some really pretty games out there that no one plays because they either have faulty or clunky gameplay mechanics or a terrible plot. Personally, my NES, SNES, and Genesis are still hooked up to my big screen right beside my 360 and Wii. As long as a game is fun to play, who cares about graphics?

An excellent video game totally needs all of the above to survive. Addictiveness is actually related to how excellent it is, so your question should ultimately be "Whats makes video games so addicting?" and my answer to that question is, graphics, game lay, replay value, fun value, and multiplayer capabilities.
