If Schmeical turns about to be half as good as his Dad he'll be my choice.

He's Danish, and you need some spelling lessons. Are James, Green and Foster better than Robinson? If so, then why haven't they been picked more regularly?

Everyone is getting on Robinson's back but could any other English goalkeeper play any better? I don't think two goalkeepers on top of eachother could have saved Germany's second goal. People have slated him for his 'error' against Croatia, but conveniently overlook the fact that it was due to a divot in the ground that ball went past him. You can't legislate for something like that. It wasn't a mistake, it was just a freak of nature.

As with every player, what is happening to Paul Robinson now is a case of 'form is temporary, class is permanent.' Every goalkeeper has down spells in his career. Look at David Seaman in the early 90s, flapping at that Ronald Koeman free kick, or David James 10 years ago having a nightmare game against Paris Saint Germain. There are ups and downs, but the ability which has already got him 37 England caps will sharpen up again.

Well i really believe that K.Schmeical will develop in to a top international keeper, but for what country only he knows, but i personally think that he will become Denmark's no 1 for years to come if he chooses to play for them instead of England as he will have a much harder job of being England's no 1, i also think that Robert Green & Scott Carson are two great young keepers who will take over the reins from Robinson & James.

What you say about eligibility and nationality is true. Kasper Schiemcel inherits the qualities and prowess of goalkeeping from his father. I think he would be absolutely unbeatable if he played for England. Paul Robinson's positioning is just as bad as Jens Lehmann's, that has to said! He can bring what only Seaman brought....Awareness!

No. Kasper is a good young keeper, but he's not ready for international football yet. Still has a lot to learn.
I'd agree that Carson and Foster are both better keepers than Robinson though.

Why would Kasper want to play for England. Even Denmark is better than them!!! What a joke.

I don't care how good he is. I don't want to see him in an England shirt.

International football is (or at least **should** be) about representing your country. The system that allows a player to represent a country based on a tenuous link to it is in my view totally wrong.

I'd rather see an English England team lose, than see us win because we have foreigners.

I can handle the fact that England have Owen Hargreaves in the team. Although he was eligible to play for more than one country, his heart has always said to him that he is English.

Kaspar Schmeichel's heart is Danish. He should play for Denmark.

Is Schmeichel eligible to play for England - he's Danish or has he lived here long enough to play for England? However he still very young for a goalkeeper - he's still only 20.

Kirkland should get a go...he is a huge presence in the box and is a better shot stopper than Robinson. If he manages to stay injury free I expect to see him take Robbo's place...anyone is better than him at the moment!!

Isn't this question a bit premature!? He was lucky to keep a clean sheet his defense did most of the work against Man U... How Man U didn't score is beyond me!!!
