Nova Roma? You mean Istanbul? I hear it's a beautiful city. Lots of culture and history, which dates back to its time as "the city of Constantine", Constantinople.

Before Constantine, Byzantium was a relatively unimportant city. Constantine's patronage turned it into the jewel of the world for over a thousand years.

Yes, Nova Roma was the name of Istanbul before it was Istanbul and before it was Constantinople. Constantine founded it as 'Nova Roma' (New Rome) in 325 AD. It was only named Constantinople after his death.

And Istanbul is a beautiful city, one of my favorite in the world.

There is also an organization named Nova Roma that was basically founded to support old Roman ideals.
