The first time it took me 23 years to find my best friend from school. Once she explained what caused the separation, we picked up where we left off. She's the initial reason I moved to Wisconsin.

Just recently I located an address for another woman, about 20 years younger than me. I used to work with her and we were very close. I found her in Maryland and she apparently got my letter and left her number on my cell phone last night.

I've found a few other people for cousins, too. It's fun reconnecting. How about you?

Yes and zabasearch.com is a great way to locate people. It is faster if you know the state but not necessary.
A few friends I have maintained contact though not religiously for 40 years or so.
As Goldwing says many of us have changed our life paths and do not have much in common but it is nice to touch base occasionally.
My own father was contacted by his high school sweetie after 50 some odd years and they had alot of fun for the last 2 years of his life.
I encourage anyone who is thinking about locating a lost love or friend to do so. You can catch up and if that is as far as it goes then it is all good. You never know though they may be in touch with someone or have a friend who could end up being the ONE that makes you a great companion for your golden years.
I didn't find my HEROE until I was 45 and content to live alone. In fact it took me 7 years to decide if I could live with anyone even him. But I am loving it!

I've been helping out with my High School's 50th Class Reunion. You just would not believe how many of my old friends I have found.

The great part of it is that they live in so many different parts of the world. We're all planning to meet up at the reunion. This is going to be great, to see all the changes in those from years gone by.

Also, the future visits to places I've never seen before, is going to be lots of fun and extremely educating.

strange you asked this question. when I was in college one of the classes I took the Professor told us " to use any means we had ( this was long before the Internet ) to locate a friend or classmate we hadn't seen in at least 10 years. "

one of the means I had at my disposal was a Fraternal Organization so I used my connection there. the professor was a little upset because this wasn't exactly what She had in mind. but I informed her that this was a " means " that I had so She gave me credit, although this particular " means " wasn't available to the rest of the class. by the way the next time She changed instructions where the " means of research " had to be available to everyone.

I returned to my home town for a 30th class reunion in '91. Reconnected for a while with friends [and enemies] of my youth. I found we ran dry of things in common before too long, but it was an uplifting catharsis.

No, I haven't. As basically a loner, I've never searched for long lost "friends" who could more accurately be described as lost acquaintances.

I have. Sadly, the reunions were never that great. I was always the one seeking them out, and they had long forgotten about me.

yes, on the Internet...the "reunion" was a dissappointment for all concerned...in three cases, we had moved on in life, had nothing in common....so I stick with the friends I have today, had yesterday, and tend friends as if they are treasures (they are).
