Look and see if your fridge has a "drip pan" under it that may be full. There is a....not sure of the right words....like a vent strip across the bottom front edge, that you can pop off. and have access to the drip pan.
Good luck

If your refrigerator is a self defrost you have a tube running down the back to a pan on the bottom. One thing could be the hose that goes into the pan has moved and is directed to the floor and not into the pan. You will need to pull the refrigerator out and
look under with a flashlight. Another reason is the hose has come off the connection from the top part of the back.
Hope this helps..

Either you are opening the fridge door a lot or your seal may be going bad. Everyone is right about drip pan under the fridge is full and needs to be emptied. Another important thing to do while you are down there is check to see how dirty or how much dust has collected in the coils. Best way to clean them is with high pressure air hose to blow them out...vacuuming works OK....and long narrow duster would be what most people have around the house. Limited air flow will not only keep the drip pan from drying up....but will also make your compressor work harder and could make it burnout faster. Cat hair and dust are the worst. That will plug up that air flow in a very short time.

evaporating pan in the bottom of the refrigerator must be full of water and running over, this happens when the weather is hot and humid and the refrigerator defrosts and the water collects in the pan under the refrigerator! Nothing is wrong only the pan is full, why it's brown is from the dust collected in the collection pan! Good Luck!

I have repaired many of them , Usually the hose that drains the water away from the evaporator is plugged . easiest way to clear out is to find the end of the hose at the bottom of the refrig and use compressed air to blow out the debris then open your fridge door and clean up the mess from the collector at the opposite end of the tube . Put a few drops of dish soap in the collector end will help prevent future build up .

sounds like the Evaporation pan is full, and running over,
there should be a small cover at the bottom of the fridge,
below the door, it will pull off, using a flash light check the evaporation coils, i bet there dirty, mine were,
at a hardware you can get a brush made to clean them, it,s long and slender, there is a Pan sitting on the coils, this is to evaporate the water using the heat from the coils, you may have to empty it, , this happens when it,s humid in side and the fridge works harder,

There some heater coils under the drip pan if those stop working the pan tends to over fill and thus your brownish puddle...it may be time for a new fridge or find out if ithe coils can be replaced..if your mechanically inclined it's pretty simple to replace....but requires tipping the fridge on it's side.

There is a drain hose on the back of most refrigerators. Sounds like the collection tray underneath is full.
