Through these businesses, GE participates in a wide variety of markets including the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, lighting, industrial automation, medical imaging equipment, motors, railway locomotives, aircraft jet engines, aviation services and materials such as plastics, silicones and abrasives. It was co-founder and is 80% owner (with Vivendi Universal) of NBC Universal, the National Broadcasting Company. As GE Commercial Finance, GE Consumer Finance, GE Equipment Services, and GE Insurance it offers a range of financial services as well. It has a presence in over 100 countries.

Interestingly, over half of GE's revenue is derived from financial services, ostensibly making it a financial company with a manufacturing arm.

Unfortunately, General Electric owns no retail gas stations. GE aside, most major oil companies (MOCs) have divested themselves of fuel retailing, instead focusing on their core business of fuel production. Most retail sites are privately owned and run by "jobbers" in industry parlance, where they pay rent to "fly the flag", that being displaying the MOC's logo. They also are required to adhere to fuel quality standards, as they are representing the MOC. GE does own GE Financial, which manages credit cards for other diverse retailers. For one example among many, Brooks Brothers. The card may be restricted to that particular store, or be branded to that store and still function as conventional a Visa or MasterCard. Likely, Midas contracts their card services through GE Financial. If you call the phone number on the back of the card, they should be able to tell you use restrictions, if any. GE does also own Wayne, a manufacturer or retail fuel dispensers and other petroleum handling and control equipment. However this is infrastructure equipment, not retail.
