...That the "aging" process is actually "why" we live as long as we do...the fact that our cells reach a point where they stop replicating "helps" us live much longer than if they kept trying to divide, because if they did, the "tail" of the DNA strand would run out of "length," and we would simply "dissolve" at that point instead of staying alive longer...This is one more discovery that "reversed" a traditional scientific assumptive belief, and I'm noticing more and more things are being "turned" on their head, so to speak...Such as the undeniable connection between "legal abortions" and a low crime rate...less late teen punks raised by parents who shouldn't have been parenting equates to less crime...
(and Pluto is no longer a "planet...")

What else could we be "backwards" about in our cultural and scientific thinking...?

Baby you think too much. Now shut up and do me already. A man who pauses in mid hump to ponder the mysteries of life, will end up hitting very dry land.

I believe in God, but I'm also a fan of science and evolution. From what I can tell, there's a lot of evidence to support the work of Darwin and others, but there are also some holes in the theory. By me, God could have created the Big Bang, the evolutionary process, life on other planets, the physical laws of the universe, other dimensions and everything else in creation. There does not have to be any inherent conflict between believing in God and accepting all of these other things. Best wishes!

Nothing really new! George Ivanovitch Guirdjieff in his studies in the early 1900's said that "life" sees things 180 degrees in the wrong direction. Imo he wasn't right about everything, but he certainly was about a lot of what was published of his teachings. The Law of Attraction materials as taught by Esther and Jerry Hicks, carefully looked at, can open up such knowledge as well. The fact that it flies in the face of the status quo, as did George's stuff, attracts undue resistance and denigration but what else is new? Cheers!

The (possibly startling)fact that their is an infinite number
of Discoveries to be made-and there are AS MANY TRUE
ONES AS THERE AS FALSE ONES.

But, in our darwinist world(and education)there is a sort-of
-negative pressure, which,if im not mistaken,is partly responsible for not allowing real progress here(in this ares
or realm-of-knowledge).No matter, there are worse things
in this life that could happen.

Our concepts about the very nature of matter itself are beginning to look doubtful, as it may only be waves of tightly wound energy. They are playing with the idea of parallel universes. "What else could we be backwards about in our cultural and scientific thinking", frankly everything!

What we do posses of value is a willingness to learn, and an excellent model of reason to do it with the scientific process.

The list is too long to even begin to detail here, but one thing you have to use to put into prospective: we used to think the earth was flat, the sun revolved around us, and leeches could cure disease. Looking back, that may seem barbaric and idiotic, but when our future generations look back at us they'll say the same thing we're saying about the past.
