There is a senior center nearby and my very favorite activity is shooting pool. Believe it or not though, the women at this place are worse than the women on Yahoo. There is a lot of infighting and jealousy. I can understand that there is a need for attention and to feel special but it usually comes at someone else's expense. For that reason, I choose to pay tournament pool and stay away from the senior center. The favorite activites for a lot of the seniors at the center are the gambling trips to Foxwoods and other casinos in the area. That also doesn't interest me but it is a favorite activity.

I'm only 70 and it seems like the seniors at the center are mostly older than that. No senior meals for $1.50 for me and please no Bingo. I might go to the monthly dance and I let them do my taxes and fill out senior rebate forms for certain things like Renters Credit simply because I am inherently lazy about such things, but on the whole it is mostly for old people and I'm only 70. I like the 2.5 mile walk to go there and back, it's good exercise. Beats the heqq out of those danged line dance classes that make you look like a bloomin' fool.

I don't know of any senior center near me but I'm sure there is likely to be one since I live in a large city. I know that HairNose and his wife (neighbors across the street) go daily to someplace near here where they pick up free food (as if they need it since both of them damn near overload their suburban). HairNose and wife are retired and not suffering at all financially, yet they take advantage of a program obviously designed for more needy oldsters. This petty greed kind of chaps my hocks.
