What's the deal....??

Question

Why do so many people think that if you have a problem you just call the local government agency to solve it for you?
When more often than not, the agency simply is there to handle major events. Or to answer questions.
If you need something taken care of shouldn't we as Americans take the initiative to try to solve it ourselves before running to some paper pusher for help.

People have been told too often that the role of the government is to be their big daddy who helps them with everything...and the government has used every tweak of the Constitution to take over more and more of our lives...this is why people are eventually going to demand that the government house and clothe and feed and give them free medical care from cradle to grave...because, according to liberals, we have the right to be clothed and housed and fed and given free medical care...and our fellow citizens have the obligation to provide it for us if we are too lazy to do for ourselves.

Yes, but american gov't is a mere ever-expanding organism with hydra heads composed of self-perpetuation agencies and special interest groups that directly profit from the following:

Putting wedges between groups of people by replacing the family unit and other important constructs with intervention and the nanny state.

In a nutshell, if you agree with socialism, you look no further than our own country.

Most fail to realize the cycle is neverending and will end (just like the roman empire) with 1 civil servant = 1 worker.
Self implosion, weakened starving population, no money to pay our military leaving us vulnerable to attack from outside sources.

This is a very long explanation, and could go on for hours, so I've tried to narrow it down as simple as possible.
