So if I skip the sugar pills in sept I will still have that period regular, even though i would have started a new set of pills? And then I will skip my whole period in October?

Ok - in theory - if you go straight from the end of active pills to the next set of active pills, you should not get you period right then in September. And then what happens in October depends on whether you do or don't take take those sugar pills.

However, as Terri mentioned above, some of us just don't work that way. Our bodies get used the the 28 day cycle and at the end of 28 days that uterus is going to get rid of that blood one way or another. Sometimes when people do this, since it will stop you body from having a regular period, you'll just have a long period of very light spotting. And then your cycle is all screwed up for a month or two. It varies from woman to woman.

How did your body react when you first started BC? That might be a good indicator for how your body will take to this. Did you have lot of spotting in the beginning?

My understanding of it is this...

I take a pill for 21 days and have a 7 day break. Some pills have 7 sugar pills instead of a 7 day break.

When I have the break I have a period. (when you take the sugar pills, you have a period?)

If I dont have a break, I will totally skip that period.

I can take up to three pill packets in a row and do no harm to myself according to my Dr.

If I am right in thinking sugar pills are the same as having a break, and you do have your period during sugar pills, you'll just skip that period if you keep going.

If you skip the sugar pills your cycle will be out of whack, so you could get your period on the active pills instead of the sugar pills.

I did this once and won't ever do this again. It took me months to get my cycle back on track, I never knew when I'd get my period. FINALLY its starting to get on schedule again.
