i have comcast high speed internet on my PC and im going to buy a laptop. how do i get the comcast network onto my laptop? i asked comcast about a wireless modem and they said that i will have to pay close to $100 per month if i buy it because i already have the service and i was trying to buy a new modem. does comcast high speed internet only use their wireless router or can i just go out to best buy and buy a wireless router?

What they told you was Poppiycock, All you need is to go out to your neighborhood computer store and purchase a Wireless Router, and follow the instructions and your set.
It slays me that these fools will try anything they can to scam there customers, and once they have your money they could care less.
All Internet Service providers furnish a Modem that allows you to connect via an Ethernet Cable but instead of running the Ethernet Cable to your computer you run it to your new Router and connect it to the WAN Port, then you can connect any hard wired computer to any of the other ports and you will be connected the router should sence any wireless card on any computer in range and connect. Like I said read the Instructions it's very easy and millions do it through-out the world and we don't pay more,
