Does anyone know what the grey stuff is that you paint onto a flat roof on the epoxy resin system. What is it called and where can you buy it?

There are a couple of products that you could be after, depending on what you want to actually do to the roof. If you just want to patch it up to get a bit more mileage out of it, the stuff you're after is called Acrypol, it's about £25 a tub from B&Q; it's basically a paint-on fibreglass coating that sets, and seals any splits of cracks you have in the felt, and is good for 6 months to a couple of years depending on local climate.
If you're after re-covering the roof, you'll be wanting EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), which is a paint on rubberised coating that when dry is completely waterproof and UV resistant, unlike felt! Be warned, it's not easy to apply, so best to leave it to a roofer who has been trained to use it.
