It has been stated that the judge in the Michael Vick case is an "animal lover" because he is a hunter. Now, without concentrating on the Vick case itself, I would like to know who believes that hunting animals equates to "loving" them? Isn't the judge also killing animals? (Now, yes, I know he is not doing so for profit nor is he torturing the animals, but they are still dying). Please respond with what you think?

Maybe most of the people on here need to think about this question when they are next tucking into their juicy steak.
Just because people don't go out to kill their own food, doesn't make it any different from picking it up nicely wrapped from the supermarket.
As long as this Judge eats what he hunts I don't see what the problem is,besides he might have 2 dog's and a cat that he loves very much.

To the guy above.
Yes, I know how farm animals(stun gun between the eyes) are killed and that Asian's eat cats and dogs, but the question isn't about Vick's,it's about the judge.

nope and I think its ironic that a bullet shot or arrow shot is more "civil" than drowning or hanging.

Vick is wrong for torture and brutality. but hunting isn't that much better, even if it is controlled hunting.

#1 - Farm raised food is not shot with bullets/arrows and not drowned or hung.

#2 - So only "dogs and cats" are the only animals that animal lovers should love? Just because they are domesticated pets, does not mean they are the only animals that should be loved. and by the way, did u know that some cultures around the world consider dogs and cats as food also? Asian people eat almost every animal living.

I am a hunter (primarily upland game) and a dog and cat owner. My hunting dogs probably get more love and attention, better exercise and diet than most. My dogs are my companions and friends. I enjoy the challenge of hunting and I do eat everything I hunt. Hunting is a necessary tool for wild animal control. While I do not hunt deer, I do understand that a controlled harvest of deer populations benefit the farmers and land owners, not to mention the long term benefits to the deer herds themselves in terms of over population for available food, disease, etc.

if there's an over population of the animal (like dear in the northeast in spring) and the animals are starving or in pain due to over population, then hunting is justified. i'm an animal lover & would never hunt but think hunters who follow state guidelines /seasons aren't so bad.

I love animals and I eat them too. I would think it is pretty much the same thing. I won't kill them but someone has to in order for all of us to eat them.
