Water them about once a week. Don't soak the soil, but wet it enough for the surface to be good and wet. They are used to shaded light, like in the woods, so they do just fine in filtered or partly sunny areas. It is not nessesary to put them outdoors, but give them a couple hours of direct sunlight about twice a week and they will do fine. Also, find a good liquid fertilizer such as Peterson's, Miracle Grow, or even Job's plant spikes and folow the instruction for indoor plants.

Golden rider is right on, but I want to add that ferns love humidity and a daily misting with a water bottle would be appreciated by your plant. Also, another great pick-me-up for you fern is to hang it in your shower and run hot water to create a mist. Don't let the water hit your fern, but let it soak of the mist. Do that for them once a week and they will be happy ferns.
