Someone referred to it as the new Berlin wall, so they took it up as a fact. Mexico is seaperate country and we have the right to fence or even wall our borders as they do, they ought to object to Mexican immigration policies or go down there and protest human rights and see how a real liberal society operates!

The Berlin Wall separated one country from another -- even though the two (East and West Germany) had at one time been part of the same country.

But that analogy (that YOU raised), it's valid -- since most of the area in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California used to be part of Mexico.

No, the reason that many people oppose the US Border Wall and liken it to the Berlin Wall is that both were attempts to control people, and both were attempts to isolate one group from another -- and one was ultimately unsuccessful, while the other is very likely to be unsuccessful.

Because it wasn't their idea. Anything that makes sense and would be used by Republicans to point to and get themselves elected, the Democrats will protest. If it were their idea things might be different. Sadly the simple fact is the whole wall security has been hijacked into a immigration issue. Changes in security everywhere but the Mexico border. If several million people can come over the border without a qualm what is to stop a terrorist from doing so? Not much into conspiracy theories but almost seems liberals want one to do so just to say nah-nah told you the conservatives didn't protect you.

I am a liberal and do not equate it with the Berlin wall. I think many people have the perception that a wall, if built would be a continuous mass of steel mesh or concrete. It likely would not.
I do not support a wall, because I do not see it as a solution. If it were shown to curb migration, then I would support it. It has not (where built) so I do not.

East Germany was part of the soviet union it was a separate country too at the time so to ask "Do they consider Mexico part of the U.S.?" makes no sense.

Sure it was once part of the entire germany as texas california new mexico arizona and nevada were once part of mexico..

Berlin wall definition (according to dictionary): The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) was a long barrier separating West Berlin from East Berlin and the surrounding territory of East Germany. Its intent was to restrict access between West Berlin and East Germany.

The Berlin wall was built to keep people in. The border fence would keep people out.

They be attentive to lots that's no longer so. Liberals are so opened minded their brains might have fallen out. The Liberal ideology is an concept , fostered by using a delusional, illogical minority and which holds forth ideals that have not have been given any foundation relatively. @
