Get rid of them outside the entrance of your house by pouring boiling water on the ants. This has been an old favorite way to kill ants.
Cinnamon won't kill ants but will repell them. You can sprinkle this on sills & doorsteps.

You can use ant baits made of borax & sugar(Terro), or you can make your own baits by adding some sugar to 20 Mule Team Borax & putting it in a small covered container with holes punched in it. It can also be sprinkled on doorsteps & sills.

Diatomaceous Earth can also be carefully placed on doorsteps, etc. to kill ants & will even kill fleas.

Finally, it's necessary to make sure you don't have a lot of crumbs around that the ants have easy access to. Determine what the ants are attracted to and remove the food source. Vacuum trails, wipe them with soapy water, or spray with window cleaner. Locate entry points and caulk openings or plug with petroleum jelly.

Good luck! Hope this helps.

treat the entire foundation on the outside with really any ant killer diazanon is the best but I dont know if it is still sold. Then buy some ant traps and put them where the dog can't get to them, behind the fridge in window sills under the kitchen sink etc.

Sprinkle regular table salt wherever you have ants and where they come in. Leave for 3 days. If they come back, repeat the process. Once or twice will take care of the problem.
