Great Question! Perhaps I would lie if I had an identity complex and had the sick thought in my head that these other people knew me and I have to seem interesting for them to answer my questions.
Either that or I would lie and make up something outrageous to see how many responses I got.

Maybe a person has nothing better to do than lie...some people thrive on lying....or if you mean "lying" down, maybe they're just plain tired.
