Before I've had my teacher, I always though she was a *****. Cause she'd get smart for no reason, telling me to be quiet in the restroom when I wasn't even talking, and when she'd walk past me in the hall, she'd give me this evil look. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS LADY AND SHE DIDN'T KNOW ME. One time I was in the store and she was getting her nails done, and I looked in there, and she was staring dead at me. Now that I have her as a teacher, she just suddenly changed to being nice to me. Wtf is up with that?

Maybe YOUR attitude has changed and you're growing up. Teachers are human beings, believe it or not. When people aim hatred at them, they can't help but respond, if only silently.

It's all about perception.

I've had new students, who have later come to me and said, "I thought you hated me," or something like that. All because one day I corrected them in the hall, or they thought I looked at them wrong, etc. In all these cases, I apologize! If I shot someone a bad look in the hall, it was probably because I was preoccupied with something else, or wasn't feeling good. Sometimes I just look crabby when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere. And I don't even remember the random kids I've corrected. If someone's doing the wrong thing in the hall - I'll say something, but I don't memorize all 2,000 faces.

She didn't know you then! But she knows you now, and she likes you. Maybe someday you can bring up the old memories you have of her. I bet you she honestly doesn't remember, and didn't mean anything personal against you.

Now that you're in her class, you're probably getting a chance to know her and she's getting a chance to enjoy you. I had students that came in thinking I was mean because they saw me reprimand a student once, and the image stuck in their minds. When they spent time with me, it was a different story.

On a student's side, my son (who was a bit difficult) always found that the teachers he "thought" were cool, he didn't like once he got in their class. The ones he thought were mean, he loved by the end of the year.

It's all in perception and getting to know people.
