There are a ton depending on what mythology you look at. You’ll have to excuse any repeats that you see here.
Hippogriff- The front half of a horse with a giant fish tail end.
Sirens- Women who hypnotize sailors by singing them to their death at rocky shores.
Mermaids- Half human, half fish live in the depths of the sea. They have been portrayed as human like (Disney) or ugly monster like creatures.
Water Dragons-Also known as sea snakes. A type of dragon that sticks to the water (lake, stream, ocean, sea, etc) Like most dragons they aren’t always keen to engage in human contact but will help from time to time. Their looks, colors, and personalities range in all shapes and sizes.
The Kraken- A giant beast that is usually described as an octopus or giant squid that sleeps somewhere in the sea. When the end of the world happens it will wake up and rise to the surface killing anything or one in its wake. (Poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson)
Leviathan-A giant whale sometimes associated with the Kraken, usually goes after boats on the high seas.
Cuthulu-From H.P. Lovecraft’s books a Giant looking Octopus that is an alien from another planet. It had its own city, which it destroyed, from where it ruled. It was said that to look into its eyes was to make you instantly fall dead or go insane. (There are a few movies coming out about it, “Cuthulu” and some say that new J.J. Abrahams movie may be about it. www.1-18-08.com or just do a search for the two films at www.imdb.com)
King Neptune/Triton/Poseidon-Many names for the ruler of the seas.
Undines/Nymphs-sprites both male and female of the ocean and lake, like most sprites they like to cause trouble and have fun and usually associate themselves with humans.
Bunyip-A creature that lives in the swamps of Australia, explanation as to its appearance is vague at best.
Kappa-A Japanese creature that lures children into the water and drowns them, eats blood and cucumber.
That’s a very general understanding of the majority of water creatures. There are a ton more. Check out the websites below.
Hope that helped :-)

good question. More famous in history than the ones you mention was the genuinely-feared kraken with many limbs, and merfolk. Some say there are sea elves. Accepted as a fact were sea-leviathans of the bible...clearly not hippos if you read Job! Many physical features such as whirlpools were seen as having spirit/sea monster equivalents too, so there are plenty in mythology and even guidebooks... Scylla (monster) and Charybdis(whirlpool) from Odysseus...
Scotland has always been plagued by shonny (sp?) who are supplicated by ale. Searrach Uisge: resembling a korean turtle-boat or a capsized boat.... of course in Lovecaft, Cthulhu's realm has sunk beneath the waves. Filmwise: Godzilla fought Gamera; didn't triton come out of the sea like the Sea Devils in Doctor Who...and the titan's name associates them with the sea...
More humanish: Na'id (spelling?) , Ayai Napa is a monsterous zone too.. there are Japanese ones too I can't remember (Bushido the game has a good description, I will add if I can find it b4 the end of this)

Well we could go back to greek mythology and use the Sirens and Scylla (many headed beast).
There's also the Nereid, which is a sea nymph.
The devil whale was a huge giant whale many sailors thought was an island. The whale wakes up, and takes the ship and sailors for a snack.
