I have hundreds of pavement ants in my garden!
They're a real trouble every summer!
Is there a way of getting rid of them quickly without any professional products?

Can someone please help me!

Thanks!

easy this method not only kills the entire ant nest but it`s also safe around kids and pets. take a packet of yeast and mix it with a 1/4 cup of sugar add just enough water so it looks like a glaze then put the mixture in some bottle caps (beer caps work best) but any kind will do, place these in areas you see the ants and it`ll kill the whole nest works for those pesky pop can bees too! what happens is the yeast eats the sugar and release's carbon dioxide the ants eat the sugar yeast mix, they take all food to the queen ant(she decides if it's worth getting) and the whole nest's stomach will explode from the carbon dioxide no more queen no more ants

Ground Cinnamon

I, too, had a problem with ants when I moved into another house. Go to a dollar store and buy some ground cinnamon and put it where you think the ants are coming in. You can even put it on the window sills and it won't hurt your kids or pets. Try it. It works.

Catnip

I was investigating herb companions for my garden and came across this tidbit. Basil repels flies and mosquitoes. To deter ants, use catnip. Sprinkle it in their paths.

Borax and Syrup

Try a mix of borax (borateem - in the laundry section) and syrup. Put this mix along places you see the ants.

The first two are pet and kid safe....good luck...and I know these work.

I wish mine would stay in the garden!
We have an extension on our house and where it
was built everyyear we are plagued by the intelligent
little things.
We have tried powder and other stuff but they always
find an outlet. So I think I'm gonna get me some mint!!

Just sprinkle them with talcum powder or flour. For some reason they don't like the dry texture. It's also non toxic to pets and more humane than boiling water or chemicals. Also a good remedy if you are unfortunate to have them in your house.
