Yes, you see alot of these adverts on fan sites because they persuade young kids into giving away personal details for very expansive gifts such as...ipods, the "new" Nokia mobile, portable DVD players - it used to happen to me all the time until i got a new email address and stayed away from such links. What they really do is make you send out information for you to win, when you don't really win anything, they get you to participate in some sort of share that costs you around a £10/$10 a month until really, you end up paying for the item yourself.

And they make you spam all the addresses that you sent it to , this is how they make their money. Its enticing advertisements - you should realise that nothing if free in this world.

It definitely works, I did FreePay recently and got a free MacBook and my mate got the iPod. They're not spam like some of these things, they've been on BBC and everything.
Basically it's like a chain letter, you sign up for say, EasyCinema DVD rental and get your mates to do the same.

Can take a while to get your gift though, and you may need to get a lot of people to join to get the more expensive gifts..

Good luck!

yes, its chain spamming.

encouraging people to give away personal information for reward is the prime evil of marketing people.
