When I was teenager I used to be a communist (I'm embarrased to say:p) Though there is that saying.. that if are not a communist at 20, then you are heartless etc etc

Now I am quite centrist. Though I still try to be compasionite, I'm quite cynical. (Old age)

Are your views the same as they were when you were younger, or are their different? How and why?

I guess I was brought up with centre-left views (I guess moderate socialism), however my parents were (still are) quite racist and homophobic. As I grew up (older teenage years) I became an idealist liberal and challenged stereotyping and discrimination. Now, I am getting a little older and a little wiser (32) I am becoming more cynical. I am more of a liberal/libertarian, but moving more the to the centre (I am in the UK by the way)
By the way, I don't think you should be embarrassed of what you did in your youth. "It is better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done" not sure who said that, but I think it rings true in many cases

I used to be Socialist (member of the SWP) but I got fed up of the way some Socialists will support the nastiest scummiest lowlifes in an attempt to appear "liberal" and anti-government. Also the way most of them are wealthy and middle class and know nothing of what it is like to be a poor worker. I still support Socialism but not through any of the main Socialist parties - just the ideas of Socialism.

I'm now middle of the road but swing left when it comes to things like the NHS and Welfare State (which is needed for those in true need) and Capitalism (which I do not truly see as a benefit other than for the rich) and more to the right when it comes to things like the current large scale immigration from Europe(too many immigrants in a country without full employment = job problems and poverty for all I've seen this first hand).

yes. I have grown to loathe everything new labour stand for. I actually voted for them ten years ago. Never again. I am amazed (and a little ashamed) at the depth of my loathing for all that is new labour.
I was also pro abortion until i witnessed the births of my two children, i now know that abortion IS murder and nothing any apologist could say will ever change my mind.
getting older does bring on a healthy sense of cynicism, we've heard it all before and have the experience to know that most of it is bull**it.
My political views have gone from being strongly socialist, towards a desire to take away much of the nanny state mentality that we have at the moment, i would like to see a much reduced civil service and responsibilty put back into the hands of the people of this country. What does that make me? i have no bloody idea.

I started out as a hardcore fan of Ronald Reagan. Then some things during his second term (such as Iran-Contra) made me take a closer look at him. I still liked him though because he at least made it seem like he cared about all of us, even though he did put millions of poor people out on the street. During Bush Sr.'s term, I gave up on the Republican Party entirely when he started talking about a New World Order. He also initiated NAFTA and proposed the capital gains tax cuts for the rich while simultaneously raising the so-called sin tax on alcohol and tobacco. I then voted for Bill Clinton and have voted Democratic almost exclusively ever since.

I grew up thinking I was a Democrat, until I seen how far to the left the Democrat party was shifting. I became a Republican after I joined the military and realized Republicans have the better interests of our military and our nation at heart. I still believe that 100%

As the year gone by, I've been very cautious and my view have surely changed with so much corruption that has been exposed. Although there are still some very trust worthy people can't help stand guard to see what's next.
Regardless of faults, I still love America.

as quickly as I first found out bearing directly to the terrorism that Reagan replaced into authorizing and investment and then lower back as quickly as I found out that Newt Gingrich released Ken Starr as a one guy witchhunt, I knew i replaced into with the incorrect occasion. Then as I found out to think of heavily, using good judgment and reason, i found out that the Republicans have been continuously applying sophistry and mistaken good judgment. Now it incredibly is long gone to the ingredient to disengenuity. there is no way i'm able to assist a occasion it is self delusional, bitter, hating and places their own time table over the rule of regulation or perhaps trouble-free human decency. I see not something that keeps the GOP from attempting to place yet another Bush in the White residing house. How can any man or woman help using torture or worldwide domination or absolutely everyone who could call our shape "in hassle-free terms a God d@#$%ed piece of paper"?

Not really, when I started work the Labour party under Wilson devalued the Pound and said that, "the Pound in your pocket is unchanged", but my was as I was working at sea and the exchange rate gave me less. So the Labour party lied and there is no change now, so my views of the Labour party are unchanged.

I realize that I was a bit naive politically when I was a teenager but I started to "get it" by the time I hit my early 20's. My political agenda is that of the middle class as we are the majority and out tax dollars pay the majority of our great country's bills.
