all people have unique experiences on this planet

a person's psychology is usually deeper when they have experienced trauma or hardships and people who fall under that category often search for meaning behind whats happened. They tend to analyze life more and often.

The other personality is from a different galaxy and have the opinion “lifes short; party hard” or “live it up because you don’t know when itll be your last day” type of thing

i am led to believe God wants us to balance the two attitudes. i try to have fun and enjoy what i can but i also spend time contemplating my life and the meaning behind my "experiences"

i sometimes get carried away focusing on "life stuff" though and need to remind myself to enjoy whats left of my childhood. for sanity reasons, we need happiness.

we need to learn how to enjoy our experiences.

Well this is an age old question. The ancient celts believed that this was the realm of the dead. they also believed that there exists in the same space and time as our world, there is a spiritual or fairy realm. As they thoght of things in three fold there is also a final resting place called tir na nog which means land of the young or realm of the youth. Reminicent of peter pan. So from that point of view we are dead and continual are re born into the realm of fairy and when we die in fairy we return to this world in a constant cycle of learning until we reach the stage of perfection that we may enter tir na nog were we live ever after in perfection. You may have heard the saying "that person has been here before" So we are here to experience and learn a lot. I`m sure we can enjoy life while we are learning

This is the way I'm thinking...

We are here because of an accidental mutation in an ape species that led to Homo Sapiens.

There is life on this planet because the parameters for biological life were met (temp, water, etc).

There are other galaxies that scientists are discovering that have planets with similar parameters.

I think since we are here and are existing that we should find something that entertains us until our life runs out.

Some people give themselves a purpose such as I want to become a doctor because my mom has an illness, or I want to become a lawyer to make a lot of money, etc. So, we should find or give ourselves a purpose and go at it until we die.

And so, I think we should try and enjoy life, cause there isn't anything after it! We are an accident! :(

That's my 2 cents!

Strictly matters of opinion I assure you.

To have it good and enjoy life is up to you and wholly to you... It should not determine or be determined on wealth or posession but your own ability to feel good when you want to.. and if you want to all the time then youve already succeeded in life.

To exsperience and learn alot seems to be rather part of the life program... wouldent you agree? A man cannot stub his toe in public without exsperiencing a half dozen notions of learning.

What perspective do you want to have in life? Do you want to exsperience learning? then you will.. do you want to learn how to have a good life? then you will develop these tastes.. the idea that life has a paper sheet or tablet that has a checkmar engraved upon it is a fallacy.

Any goals or rules in life are assumed and descided by you wholely and completely.. your abilities and powers to live and do within your exsperiance of life is also self made self run and self assured.

So.. if you are going to try and make sence of what is.. then learn what is.. Is.. because I can garuntree you every philospher to date has made a much more drab and tired estimation of life then the next to sell to the next guy.

Make it what you will.

That maynot be why we are here but it IS what we are doing.

The experience of life is that by just "having it good and enjoying" we learn nothing.

The latter, definitely.

Life is not about being comfortable all the time and not experiencing unpleasant things and being perpetually happy. That's all well and good for movies, especially with their concept of living happily ever after. Well, "happiness" is merely a feeling of contentment -- it's not some permanent state. In fact, you won't find it described as permanent in any dictionary.

Life is all about making mistakes and hopefully learning from them. There's also pain and adversity, because without the bad times we wouldn't appreciate the good times. Oh, and it's only through adversity that we grow and improve.

Why does it have to be an either/or question? Is it not possible that we are here to have a good time experiencing the true meaning of life and learning our lessons?

the former would actually be good and it is honestly our deepest desire but the reality at hand is that were here to learn whether we like it or not some lessons will be passed on to us by life through the experiences we will undergo

We are here to experience. Our spiritual home is so pure and full of love, we can have no concept or understanding of any negative thing unless we have experience of it.
We chose this earthly form so that we may progress.
This life is a roller coaster full of highs and lows, fear and excitement, laughter and tears. If you haven't done it you cannot understand it. Liken it to going to school.
