I just read that heavy bleeding is bleeding that will soak a pad in less than 5 minutes, and light bleeding will take much longer than 5 minutes to soak a pad....even if it is red, bright red, dark red..... I bled for 3 days, dark burgundy color and in the whole 3 days it wouldn't have soaked a whole pad - miscarriage bleeding or is that considered light bleeding?? no passing of tissue or clots at all...

not sure how far along I am, just found out I am yesterday....

While it is common to have spotting and light bleeding in early pregnancy, you should still report anything to your doctor or midwife immediately just so they will be aware.

Any bleeding, no matter how much, should be reported to your physician ASAP. You might have a slight abruption, or possibly even starting to miscarry and if so, doc needs to know about it. On the other hand, it could just be some heavy spotting. Spotting is not unusual for very early in pregnancy.

you should go to the er or call your doc because depending on how far along you are it could be something serious. Usually miscarriage bleeding is bright red blood but considering you didnt pass any clots it may not have been. Just talk to you doc he would know best!
