Knowledge would be the most important because it can help you decide whether the desire is positive or negative -you could have the desire to love or the desire to kill. How would you know the difference between what is good and bad without knowledge to guide you?
It is better than emotion, because when you appeal only to your emotions you can make irrational decisions (for instance when you are very angry you are appealing to your emotion by hitting someone). Many times it is the choices we make that define us.

I would have to say that Desire is the most important. Emotion and Knowledge are both very important, as well, but Desire wins top honors.

There are many instances of people achieving success, even becoming millionaires or billionaires purely through Desire. Alot of these people did not even have a high school education, but had the Desire to continually get back up and go after their dreams.

Emotion is very important. Our experience, background, and attitude drives our emotional responses to different situations. Emotions can make or break us. They can cause one to stall or become stagnant in the forward movement of our lives.

On the other hand, even emotionally unstable people, such as serial killers, have been very "successful" in their endeavors purely through the Desire to achieve their goals.

Again, for me, Desire is the most important of the three. Desire is the more driving force.

I no agree with plato but find him amusing. Here is what the Bible says will happen soon: Many people are depressed and discouraged and wonder if life has any meaning. They are worried about 12/21/12 and if end of world is coming. Do not be misled; only believe what the Bible says: (Revelation 11:18) But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Psalm 37:9-11) For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. (Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it. (Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Only thing that will end is wickedness and earth will not be destroyed, but Bible doesn’t say exact day. 12/21/12 is only the end of the Mayan calendar and they are all dead so what do they know? Best thing to do, study the Bible and find out how you can live forever in paradise in a better world without wickedness.

That depends entirely on what you define as important.

Desire is most important because without it, you would have NO motivation to live. Without wanting food, you would not eat. One argument states that life is solely a pursuit for pleasure.

Knowledge is most important because it makes us human. One of the key things to separate us from the other animals is our ability to reason and override simple instinct.

Emotion is most important because when you're happy to the core, nothing else matters. You could be starving, in pain or about to die, but if you're happy, you wouldn't mind so much.

Personally I think emotion is the most volatile and most important. Given that we have both desire and knowledge, emotion should be given the greatest level of control.

Desire, emotion and knowledge are three different ingredients of human life not connected to each other. It is not the question of importance... it is the question of relevance... which is more relevant in respect to other!

Desire is a trait of character that exists in most beings since birth! In absence of desire... life becomes monotonous and dull! It is desire that impels human beings to action! No desire... no action... no karma performed... life would cease to exist in the Cosmos! Desire when channelized creatively becomes a positive trait of character.

Emotion also is a trait of character that makes us believe in the power of God Almighty. It is emotion that keeps telling there exists within us a soul atman which is the master and controller of the body. In absence of emotions... human beings would become totally materialistic... rather mechanized robots.

Emotions are necessary for healthy living. The community feeling that exists within mankind results from emotion! Devoid of emotions... human beings would behave more like an animal than a civilized being. The family values... the spiritual ties... all result from emotions! It is the power of emotions that keeps a family going!

Knowledge is not a trait of character... it is knowledge gaining which a human being decides the journey of life. To earn a living... knowledge becomes necessary. The sojourn of 70 to 80 years on Mother Earth can be best lived by gaining knowledge that promotes us towards our goal. Knowledge increases our intelligence which is crucial for furthering our career.

Whatever be our chosen career in life... gaining knowledge is an absolute must! The better informed are we... smoother will be the journey of life! Be it bookish knowledge or the knowledge of the absolute... both are essential in the journey of life. It is knowledge gained through books that opens new vistas for us in the journey of life.

Those on the path of spirituality need Wisdom (aka jnana in Hinduism)! Wisdom is absolutely different from knowledge. Wisdom is understanding the absolute... even without referring the books. The bookish knowledge is ephemeral in nature... limited to the present manifestation! Wisdom continues from one manifestation to another.

It is wisdom gaining which one reaches the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha) and finally the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha Hinduism). More on wisdom jnana - http://www.godrealized.com/Jnana.html

They are not behavior, they are rational concepts created in cultural contexts. The concepts themselves are discerned in accordance with their timely realization in the self consciousness, but the time assignment (which is first second and third) does not have objective proof and as in their material metaphor lack unique domain (where are they). They become each other as each becomes subject for the other, i.e. the Will is positive, the Judgment is negative and when the Judgment judges the Will, what is it and why.

knowledge, because the amount of knowledge you have will dictate what type of desire you will have. Also the more knowledge you have about any given situation will dictate what emotion you will receive.

Emotion! If you have no emotions, that means you have no heart, thus you're "heartless".

Heartless people ignore grannies carrying heavy bags that trip over stairs.

Heartless people don't get it when you tell them a globally-celebrated joke.

Heartless people don't say thank you when someone saves them from death.

Imagine if the world was heartless - no freebies, no love, no hate, no feelings, NOTHING.

Heartless people are... heartless. I hope no one is, cos' that would be so sad.
