Hi,
im going on holidays to cairns and i'm on my learner permits. I know that inter state driving, you just follow the rules for your state eg. in victoria learners have no speed limit but in nsw they are only allowed to drive 80 kph, and when you go to nsw you can drive over 80, but does that still work when you are driving a car registered to that state??
I hope i make sense lol,
thanks

When you go interstate you follow the laws of whichever state you are driving in, therefore in NSW a learner will not be going faster than 80 km/h (sorry, once you reach the border you have to stop going 110).

From Qld Transport. Your driving supervisor can be anyone who has held an open licence for at least one year (relevant to the class of vehicle driven). Driving supervisors must not exceed the legal blood or breath alcohol concentration level for the vehicle they are instructing you in. Edit: Driving while not displaying an "L" Plate will cost you a $120 fine. A learner driver travelling alone means you are an unlicenced driver. If you drive a motor vehicle or motorbike and do not have a driver licence, due to any of the these reasons, you may receive an infringement notice or be dealt with by a court for unlicensed driving. If you are convicted of unlicensed driving the court may impose a fine of up to A$4000, or you may be imprisoned for up to one year.
