They are little bumps, it looks like the top is going to peel. Help, I did not buy the guarantee insurance for it.

Put some drops of water on the areas where the bumps are and let them sit for a day of so. The water will penetrate the wood and cause it to swell back (or nearly back) to the level of the surrounding surfaces. I'm a woodworker. It's an old trick we use to remove (or reduce) dents in wood. If the water winds up leaving stains/water marks, you can then repair the little sections with stain and finish (i.e. shellac, polyurethane, or varnish). Much better than sanding the entire thing down like one of the idiots wrote.

It all depends on "what's peeling" the wooden top or just the finish.
If it's the finish then you can strip it down and either you can, or have someone, do the work for you. If it's the veneer top, you'll have to have the top replaced and refinished.

If you can't find someone nearby in the local paper, then check with the antique shops in the area. They usually have someone that either does their work for them or, someone that does it as a sideline and may take your job on.

it is better to replace the top.
