boy/girl how do you pronounce loir?

I look at the first name and think "Is it supposed to be Lori?" I just wonder if the child would get a lot of that, or having people call her "Lori." Might as well just name her Lori. Is "Loir" supposed to be pronounced Loh-are?"

Sounds french but then I'm not exactly sure how the name is pronounced and if it is a boy/girl name.
