I got an RES yesterday as a gift, and I was wondering how I can tell the age of it. I know for sure its not a baby since a baby would be about an inch or two (which is illegal to have .. i think). My turtle is a girl, and she is about 3 1/2 inches - 4 in. Can anybody help? Please?

Hatchlings up to 3-4 inches
Sub Adults 4-8 inches
Adult 8 inches or larger

Depends on the sex as well...females grow faster then males!! Females are bigger then males...

and if you want go to http://www.turtlecare.net/age.htm

Turtles are hard to figure out the exact age.unless you were there from day one!! .but the shell size helps...

Scutes sometimes help too

The ONLY way to KNOW the age is to see it be born. A 3-4" is USUALLY about 2-4 years old, probably closer to 2.5-3 years- but it is VERY variable.

Your turtle is a few 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and a million/2 previous. they are going to eat the fish in the event that they could capture them. try putting in 6 extra fish, extra fish leaves a extra powerful possibility of catching one. or you need to purchase toddler guppies like I do.
