had three good bites(violation notices)yesterday from the aptly named cyber bully, the latest identity of our troll
whilst i am an ardent supporter of freedom of speech some of the abuse this sick individual has been dishing out to the likes of J-lo, barbie and miss p is sickening, and Yahoo should hang it's corporate head in shame at its innefectivness in stopping this
there is a school of thought that if you ignore people like this they will get bored and go away, what actually happens is that their current victim goes away, and the bully moves on to their next target
clearly, my statments made to this person yesterday have had an effect, and they have been hurt by my percivied truths.

please note that i have no intention of being drawn into a copycat game of blocking their answers, posting violations etc, and my site is fully acsessable to all, i have no fear of bullys

there are good people visiting this section on a regular basis, and whilst there are differing views there is no room for abusive extremists on either side
therefore can i suggest a stratagy to deal with this person
do not ignore them, flag up their questions to all your contacts and expose them to the glare of public scrutiny

I can see why some good folk have felt the need to turn off their email status. I refuse to do so! That makes the troll have more control over my actions, and that's what they are looking for. Anything that is said that might be intelligent, thoughtful, or even trivial will be jumped all over by this (these) idiots.

When I get an email from one of these idiots, I forward it along with an abuse report. That seems to have a greater impact, since there is evidence readily at hand, of the abuse. Use the copy and paste feature in windows to get actual quotes from these idiots. There own words will be their un-doing.

I firmly believe in using the system, to keep these forums friendly, or at least try too. If the trolls cannot play nicely, they should just take it elsewhere. Perhaps they could start their own site where rude behavior IS acceptable. Take the hint trolls, we do not need you here!

As for bullies, I have no fear of them either. The reason is, if you give them enough lead, they will hang themselves. We can tell by the grammar, spelling and syntax, who is who. There is no need to keep changing IDs since these are all dead giveaways as to who or what you really are. We are not all as dumb as you might think, so please make no mistake, we will continue to return all the crap you dish, in spades!

Trolls (definition of troll for someone who asked) A person who patrols these forums in an effort to try and cause confusion, and dissent among the members, thus the word troll.

I used to apply toddler crabs for Bull pink fishing on the Gulf Coast. i take advantage of a few #10 or smaller treble hook and hook the crab contained in the top element of the swim fin. this way the crab continues to be alive and swimming. Then i could jig it around if the crab replaced into no longer energetic sufficient. 40 year exp. Northwest Pacific handbook

Methinks the resident troll in YA hounds the regulars who are well liked by others. Jealousy rearing its ugly purple haired head at its worst.

Best bait would be to dangle some fresh green grass...
This troll is a BULLy.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been a member since March, so have had a bit of time off recently because I was getting a bit bored of it. I cannot believe what I've come back to. There have always been idiots on here who'll just post something horrendous for shock value, but the level of malice, spite and vindictiveness some of these newer members throw at people just because they don't like their answers is ridiculous.

Good for you for not hiding from these people, I'm not doing either, not going to give them the satisfaction. I know they've hounded a couple of my contacts off site with the shite they've thrown at them recently, simply because they didn't agree with their answers. Pathetic isn't it? They want to express their vile opinions but don't want us to express ours. Well sorry, Trolls, I've been a member longer than you lot and I'll still be around when you're long gone.

What exactly can they do to me? Thumb down all my answers? Report me because I have the temerity not to agree with them? Oooooh, scary! I will not tolerate bullying actually, virtually or any other damned way.

No need to go fishing for trolls honey, they come looking for you and they hunt in packs. All you have to do is post a question or answer that is witty, intelligent, honest, true, and you will get double the hits if you are popular or attractive (avatar picture included as they don't seem to realise its not real) Happy hunting x x x

Hmmm now lets see, I think the best way to fish for trolls is actually having an opinion that doesn't match theirs. If that happens, which it very often does as its a Questions & Answers site (!) we are then wide open to threats, foul language and abuse.
Yahoo really needs to consider having active moderators on this site.

Trolls are jealous people who have nothing better to do with their time. I have been getting violation notices and a lot of abuse for sweet nothings.
