It's Red Sox... where else can teams say they play more "home games".
Think, when the Red Sox travel to Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Toronto and other East Coast Games (and sometimes as far as Oakland's MaCafee Coloseum), when the home pitcher gives up a home run, a chorus of boos should happen... when the Red Sox are in town, there is a boistrous cheer, and the stadium is rocking as if they were in Fenway.
Red Sox fans don't think about their team, they live for their team. (YOU'RE LOOKING AT A SOX FAN). They are so passionate about the Sox, they'll make themselves GM, Manager, Owner, and Lord of Red Sox Nation if they could.
Take into account 2 years ago when a Red Sox fan took a swipe at Gary Scheffield, Brawls in the stands with Yankees Fans, Earlier this year a fan dropped a foul ball that David "Big Papi" Ortiz hit, and another fan threw a slice of pizza at him for dropping it... where else does that happen???
Cubs fans aren't as passionate (though the bleacher brawl with the Dodgers over the fan stealing the CF's hat was fun), and had to endure a longer "curse", but Cubs fans don't travel across the country (well, most of them) to cheer on their team, Sox fans would go to Japan if it was feesable.

Certainly not in the coma ward here in Anaheim. At least the Angels don't need cheerleaders, yes you read right, as the Padres do. They did not deploy them when the Red Sox were in town during interleague play in June, for fear for their well-being probably, but I did see cheerleaders at a Padre-Nationals game in early May.
Fenway Park has spontaneous cheering without the scoreboard having to tell the fans what to do. Yankee Stadium has the bleacher fans who greet each starting player with a cadence in the first inning. Cub fans are willing to pay money to sit on bleachers on the roofs of the buildings that neighbor Wrigley Field just to catch a glimpse of their beloved Cubbies--a team that has left their love unrequited for 99 years now. Philly fans are passionate, but they lost points when they pelted Santa Claus with snowballs at an Eagle game. I have never been to Busch Stadium, but friends from St. Louis claim that Cardinal fans are knowledgeable, loud, passionate, wear red, and being from the Midwest, would never consider heaping abuse on visiting players as is customary in New York and Boston. They fancy themselves as the David Ecksteins of baseball fans.

I am not sure if there are a group of fans that are louder than the rest. I believe if your team is playing well and firing on all cylinders, I think most fans get excited.
If I had to guess as to which most people would say, I guess it's a toss between the Yankees and the Red Sox (I like Boston better, although I'm a Giants - thanks for nothing Barry Zito!)

Cub fans and I am a White Sox fan saying that.
Cub fans love their team the most out of any other fandom. The only player they have ever given a rough ride was Jacque Jones and I don't know why on that. Sure he ain't perfect, but he ain't horrid.
Cubs put up with more crap from their teams than any other fandom and still they are filling up the park every year.
--That said, they are morons! This ain't a question of intelligence though, just "The fire and the passion!"<-inside joke, few will get it.

Loudest - Phillies. Yankees second.
Most Passionate - Cubs (look at their attendance compared to their record).

No doubt philly phans. We make a support group for every player that has a cool name. Chase's Chick's, Howard's Homers, and omg countless others. No matter how bad a player is, if he has a cool name we love him. We always blow it but the fans never quit. Our team is the most depressing but the fans are always the most passionate.

I think the Northeastern area crowds are the loudest. Cardinals fans are probably the best, in terms of being knowledgable and enthusiastic, without being overly negative when one of their own guys has trouble.
