Strangely enough the Cold War had its origins in American Labor Unrest of the 1870's through the 90's, unrest much like a brushfire rekindled during the 1930's. Books and Magazines screamed ; Anarchist, Communist, Sociallist. In 1901 an Anarchist killed an American President. The face of a single anarchist was frightening imagining the faces of millions of Bolsheviks when Russia fell to them in 1917 was a terrifying image. Throughout the 1920's the fear of Bolshevism was good for sanctioning legal pogroms and seeing lurid stories on paper and on film. One of Buster Keaton's best films 'The Navigator' features Anarchist casting a liner adrift.
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Lenin 'conducted' the Russian Revolution through letters & articles, but somewhere along the way Americans became convinced that Moscow was capable of orchestrating World Domination. This fear was intesified by the very image of Josef Stalin, in American Eyes Central Casting got it right, the perfect Villain. Despite being Allies for much of World War Two, American never quite warmed up to Uncle Josef and his Soviet Hordes. The Soviets didn't truly care. They had their agenda and felt fairly secure that the Western Allies were to exhausted to renew warfare, so they went forward with solidifying their hold on Eastern Europe. The soviets however did learn a lot from the West. Instead of simple taking countries such as Poland and Rumania, they merely lent their muscle to the Communist Parties within those Countries and in true Democratic Style voted themselves in to power. Isn't Democracy Wonderful?
Peace.................................\
PS News stories anout Al Queda using the Internet to recruit & train and plot are an echo of Lenin's Letters to his agents in Germany and Russia...

I would say the cold war started as soon as the USSR entered Berlin and took the whole city ahead of the allies entering the city. Having Berlin split into districts where every where outside of the city was soviet held territory just made it worse in.

I just recently tried https://tr.im/NnK71 last month to see if I could track down my birth-parent. My bio father left me when I was 8, and has refused to contact me since. I grew up with my biological Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological dad a couple times till recently. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his full name, and the state of a previous address he used to have.
When the results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a current address even his phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my bio father) was present, and he said no but to try back after 7.
I haven't done anything with the info since, But yeah I found what I was interested in.
