Who will these players sign with and why? Roenick said he's coming out of retirement which would make him a free agent. If he were to sign with anyone...who would he sign with and why?

Danny Markov on the other hand, wants a long term 3,000,000 dollar deal with the wings...but the wings are only offering him a short term 2,500,000. Where will Markov sign and why?

Roenick will go to whichever team will have him. He'll sign for the league minimum and try to get his 500th goal before calling it a career.

Markov is looking for some security and will be flexible on his annual take if additional years are built into the deal. Essentially, he'll go where the best deal is.

Roenick hasn't retired, he has not filed anything with the NHL stating that is his intent (it's a legal thing for pension purposes that needs to be done).

He has stated many times this summer that he's retiring, and changed his mind within minutes, hours, days, etc.

So, until I see a season start wthout him...I'll consider him unemployed.

Danil Markov is a very good defenceman. He deserves a long term contract, but I'm not sure he's a $3MM man! Slow and steady D wins games, but flashy PP specialist D gets the big bucks

Roenick should stay in the old folks home. THe game is leaving him behind.

As for Markov, the Wings are doing hi a favor at 2.5 mil, he should be grateful and jump on it.

If they sign, I bet neither one amounts to anything.

Dave- It appears Roenick "might" be rethinking that to get 500 goals. Who knows with him.
Markov has hinted at going back to Russia but it is probably a ploy to get a deal. I see the Isles being the spot he ends up. Maybe the Wings.

Both were Flyers when they made that Eastern Conference game 7 championship run before the lockout. So obviously i'd love to see them both back on the Flyers. Honestly, I don't think anyone knows, but more than likely JR will try to stay in the Cali area. He said that when the Flyers let him go that he wanted to be near his home.
