I believe the Yankees will be in first place soon! Look how close they are. I like Andy P and think he's pitching good. Mussina seems to be having a bad year. Look for the Yankees to overtake Red Sox soon!!! Go Yankees!!!

Take heart. In 2004, the Indians whomped the Yankees 22-0 and the Yankees stormed back with several in a row. But I gotta tell you, it was sweet being there, with a number of other Red Sox fans disguised as Angel fans, watching Garret Anderson make mince meat out of the Yankees pitching staff. Yes, Pettite and Wang are the high points of the Yankees staff and if Pettite is on, the Yankees have as good a chance as any, but the soft white underbelly of the Yankee staff was exposed tonight. Why did they trade Scott Proctor? Were they short of a bat in that lineup?

No. The Angels has Joe Torre's number. The Angels have won 6 of 8 this year, swept a 3 game series in NY earlier this year, booted NY from the playoffs in the only 2 meetings between the teams and is the on AL team with a winning record since '96 against the yanks. The Yankee pen is also severely depleted. I don't think the yanks have a chance...

Bust out the brooms in LA! The Yankees can't hang with the Angels. The Angels are a superior team this year. They only thing the Yanks are better at is hitting the long ball and that is it! All the other parts of the game Defense,Pitching and Hitting the Angels kill them. The Angels are the best small ball team in the majors.

Andy has been through all this many times before ... and pitched well in big games. The Angels may have an offensive letdown after 18 runs tonight. If John Lackey can step up, the Yanks will be in danger of losing yet another game in the AL East and wildcard races.

The Yankees have a must win tomorrow. Let the angels be happy with 2 out of 3.

Cutie Patootie to the rescue! Lol.
I sure hope so. We almost had the first one I hate it when the Yankees leave a lot of people on base. They could have a huge inning and they blew it. But oh well they can still come back for the rest of the season.

Whether the Yanks win or lose tonight they are done. They don't have the pitching to maintain them into the playoffs. They should scrap the season and groom some of their young pitching for next year.

i dont see them getting a win versus the Angels especially not at home. they have a seriously good record at home and some offense to match as well. it doesnt look all that good for NY. They scored 9 runs last night and still lost by that same amount.

They have a chance to...but the Angels are the best home team in the majors....many teams go in there and get swept (luckily the Sox salvaged one win there)...as a Red Sox fan I am hoping for a sweep.
