With the current bumbling of this president why is it so difficult for some men to find it difficult to support a woman for president. Is it an ego thing? There is no doubt to my mind that many many woman do better in office than Bush and we could be still be respected through out the world.

I think you've hit on something. It's been my observation that insecure men feel threatened by strong, smart, competent women. It makes them feel "small."

There are a few reasons I don't want a woman to be president.

1). The only female candidate is Hillary Clinton.

2.) Hillary Clinton.

2.5) CLINTON. We don't need another one.

3.) I don't want to give the feminists a reason to say "see?! we CAN become president! FAIR WAGES! FAIR WAGES!"

4.) No arab country in the world will EVER respect us if we have a woman running the show. Currently, they may not like us, but we're so trigger happy they still have to respect us.

5.) Right now, the media hype of a woman president is the last thing we need. I think after the election, politics and media can FINALLY focus on the war we have going on instead of bickering over policies.

Its not the ego, its just we don't share the same blind zeal of the people pushing for Hillary just because she's a woman. Face it, she wouldn't make a good president because shes Hillary Clinton. She could be Peter Clinton and I still wouldnt vote for it. Sex has nothing to do with it.

Just because you dont support Hillary for president doesnt mean you would never vote for a woman. Just because you vote in a woman president doesnt mean any other country would give the US extra support. Isnt it just as sexist to assume that a woman as president would make our country more respectable? Hillary would be TERRIBLE for this country. She pretty much already guarenteed that everyones taxes would go up and that we would give up our sovereignty and our power to entities like the useless UN.

You are making huge assumption that men find it difficult for a woman to be president, (are you sexist against men at all?) You are also making the assumption that a woman would be a better president. It isnt the sex of the person that matters. It is what the person stands for regardless of sex.

You seem just as sexist as the people you accuse of being sexist.

I haven't met a single man who was opposed to the idea of a woman president but I also know that they were either being politically correct or plain liars.Informal discussions have revealed that most men have no qualms or reservations about the efficiency of a woman president but have serious doubts about a woman staying steady and focused during a stressful situation or a crisis. I also think that there aren't many Golda MIiers[Pardon for spelling,I mean Ex prime minister of U.K] around the world but we should try it out.

As your typically Aussie bloke, I am up for a barney! (For you folks in the states, its just a bit of a larakin arguement with the question asked)

President Bush has always struck me as a Southern Gentleman, politics aside, even I was horrified at how false his smile was upon boarding the campaign bus when he though he was outta view?

Men and Women are truly equal, how dare you infer all men are either the same, or condemn women? Do you think glass ceilings exist because either men want them too or find glass ceilings attractive in a day and age of true equality? May it never be.

Sure women had it tough, and most men could not even tell you what the Sufferagettes are, or what they went through in either England or the USA to be able to vote, but women here in Australia got the vote in Adelaide off the then Premier Don Dunstan before anywhere else in the world, even before we acknowledged the orgional inhabitants of this great land Australia, women were voting before indigenous Australians were given the privellege of voting in a land they belonged to.

How dare you talk of ego, you miss the point all together with false humility. Women fail to support each other as much as honouring the men who support women. It is not a trap that some men like women enough to believe in them, it has always been acknowledged behind every great man there is an even better woman.

For example the current NSW Governor, note not Governess as sexist comment. or reverse sexism for that matter. Her Excellency Bashir, numerous university degrees, and a lessor husband whom in his own right is BRILLIANT! Perhaps you can google search her speach on Australia's Irish day when she addressed the crowd in a moving passionate way, my goodness we have da gal in charge, decent, caring, compassionate, loving, kind, genuine, caring and truly an inner beauty better described as grace!

If I were American I would vote for Hillary, as a bloke, not because of what she has gone through as a kinda Tammy Wynette who will stand by her man, but as a highly intelligent, gifted orator, a citizen in the global community who actually knows where Australia is on the map and can say how many states we have and what there names are.

What candidates focus on as the prioritization of the values they bring to contribute to bring real value and wealth has to be the key defining poll driven confidence factor in any election with a healthy enough opposition to hold these folk accountable.

Sure I have offended many Americans, why not Obama as the first black, or even some Republican like Juliani who stared in the movie anger management and did a hell of a job during 9/11 but then so did we all. We as a global community can not afford to be devided, when we care not for what happens in the wider global community then we are condoning ignorance and corruption.

A great USA president once said it best. "For Tyrany to take hold, it just takes a few good men do nothing!" I guess the founding fathers never realized once the two terms were done the same people could be back in power for another two terms, if in their humble opinion women ever got the vote, would a lack of immagination ever define why their design as a humans fraut with the same failings as anyone would not even consider why a woman would vote, little known, be in power eventually?

Whatever happens in America, I am sure if your great nations sneezes, we will all come down with Bird Flu or something! Say thanks for reducing your interest rates, it had a profound effect on Australia from misery to phew, say, what the heck is happening up over are you guys ok, down here it is a bit cold but usually is in winter!

Remember when all the Sheila's get excited up there, the rest of the world, and to do something for the greater good, if it is not this time, no, doesn't mean forever, does it, just be calm and never stop enjoying the journey in life, also try not to play the blame game you gals will go further, now go kick a##$e!

by the way you have phrased your question, you basically are only looking for one response. is this a true question about a woman president or is this a democratic question? based on what you have written, if you were honest, i can only assume that you wouldn't vote for a republican female for president.

personally i don't have an issue with a woman being president from EITHER party, but just as you obviously can't stand President Bush, I don't care for Senator Clinton. For this Yahoo Answerer, my decision is based on the person not their party.

I've heard the "other countries wouldn't accept it" argument. I don't buy it.
India has had female leaders. So has Pakistan (a Muslim country). Ditto Germany, England, Canada.

Besides, we shouldn't vote for a woman because extremists in the Muslim world wouldn't like it? Oooh, good reason!

Well probally because a women worth a darn, hasn't decided to run for president yet.

When a qualified women runs, she will probally get alot of support.

Or are you gonna try and say, just because people don't like Hillary, it means they don't want a women to be President?

Because people wouldn't be sure how it'd be when she was critisized, I mean maybe she'd have a man in the room who'd critizise her policies or give an alternate view yet feel that he would make her feel bad by accidently insulting her intelegence.

I don't know any men who would object to a woman president if she shared their views. A lot of people, male and female, don't trust Hillary. These same people would gladly vote for a woman if she had conservative values and believed in the great traditions of this country.
