You got a martial arts centre near there? Seriously consider Judo - it's perfect for any size against any size. I've seen tiny midgets kick the **** out of big buff guys. Muay Thai would be good for a striking art. If you haven't got a martial arts place near you, here's some tips: Never let him get hold of you or any part of your body especially your neck. In a fight, learn your stance. It has to be mobile but strong. Usually 1 foot forward and 1 foot back about shoulder width apart would be good. Use speed. If you see him getting ready to pounce or take a shot, get out of the way and try and hit him in the face or something. If you are lucky and get behind him, get 1 arm around his neck and pull him down. Practice. In a fight, you'll get overrun with adrenaline and you'll forget everything that doesn't come natural to you. If you practice heaps with the air or a partner, you'll find it's much easier to remember. Yes, knee kicks are good. Starting a fight with them could end one quickly. Punch the temple. If he leans over, put your weight on the back of his head and maybe get some knees to the face in there, or just push him down. Remember your 4 wings. Fists, Elbows, Knees and Feet. Use them all in a fight. If you get the chance, punch him in the back of the neck or head to make him go to sleep for a while. EDIT: What that other guy said about bigger people usually winning, it's not true. Bigger people just get an ADVANTAGE. They don't instantly win the fight 'cause they're big. A small Martial Artist would kick a big guy's *** any day.

I am afraid of sharks and bears. I swim and surf in the ocean whenever I get the chance and go backpacking in the Canadian Rockies once every 3 or 4 years (with two containers of bear spray). I just know that I am more likely to get whacked driving home from work than eaten by either of the animals I fear.

Well, my biggest fear is the death of my children and I don't EVER think I could be brave enough for that.

On a lighter note- One of my other fears is spiders and I do get brave enough to confront them...with my shoe!! ( ok,ok-when my hubby isn't there for me to yell for!) =D

Yes I do it all of the time. But then I get a new biggest fear and then I do it again. So it's a never ending process. But I like it!

no, I am a big wuss
I am however, brave enough to confront some of my smaller fears, namely small spiders and some other small bugs :)
someone on Y!A once asked if anyone ever named the spiders before they squished them, I do that now & it kinda makes them a little less scary!

Oh good heavens no! A giant pile of puke shaped into a clown carrying a tamborine is a terror I hope to never see.
