We have broadband Internet at home which comes with a modum provided by the cable company. Can I take this modum with me to another location, connect it to the TV cable so I can have internet in a hotel that doesn't have High Speed Internet?

the quick answer is no.... when you have broadband at home your IP address is for your home location. if you go to another state/country it will not be your home location, As for dial up, it would cost you dear if you have a dial in with the same company, it will entail long distance calls. unless the company as dial in local number for that area,,,

No, you can't connect thru a hotel room's cable TV. However, many hotels/motels offer broadband (some will make you pay extra). You can call the hotel/motel to find out if they offer this.

Usually, the "broadband" is wireless, so what ever you're bringing with you should have a wi-fi interface.

Get a phone cord and sign up with Peoples PC for a couple months. hook up the phone cord to rooms phone line. Actually I usually just unplug the phone cord from the phone and plug it directly in my PC.
