i have alot of memories of my dad. he made the family i felt and when he left and went to guard the gates as a marine again i felt he was again at peace. He and i used to get snow pants boots etc the works and go out in to a snow storm and walk in the fieldsnear our house. it was fun at midnight. just laughing and talking. we'd go to lake michigan when it froze over several times inthe 50's and 60's. it was neat we had to be very careful then. i learned alot from him walking in the woods and he would tell me the different trees and flowers that were there. I remember when mom would make cookies and candy and we'd eat them it was great. we'd have family over at holidays lots of family and fill the house with laughter. those were the days i miss.

Staying with my maternal grandmother when I was a child. She taught me so much about nature and life. It was priceless.
