what makeup should i use?
i have light skin that seems to have both pink and yellow undertones to it, cant really tell
when in the sun i tend to burn but it turns tan i rarely peel
my hair is light-med golden redish brown
my veins on my wrist are blue and green, cant really tell
my eyes are a blueish green color with a greenish yellow color around the pupil
i seem to look best in greys, dark browns and turquoise...

i cant determine what tone i am
when i wear makeup for warm toned skin my face looks too yellow, and when i wear it for cool skin it looks too pink

go to any ulta, saphora, macy's, or nordstrom store, and try on bare minerals by bare escentuals, they have 12 different shades of foundation, to match any skin tone. i had the same problem with other brands, and fairly light & light are a perfect match for me. check it out for yourself, to see, how it looks on your face, before making a decision.

Maybe you have neutral skin. It's hard to tell by makeup because foundation hardly ever matches anyone... But if you look good in turquoise maybe you are cool-neutral.

I have warm skin but it is peach, whereas most people with warm skin have yellow. That made it hard for me to figure out what I am and what makeup to wear!
So you might be an in between also!

Sounds like you may have neutral skin. Go to JC Penney or anywhere where they have a makeup counter.. Clinic I think would be best for you.. I have always had trouble matching or getting the color close enough.. They will do your makeup free and help you find the best color for your skin. They usually try to match it by the underneath part of your wrist.. They are good. U should try it!

1] Do you look better in black, or in coffee brown?
2] Do you look better in bright royal blue, or bright orange?
3] Do you look better in silver, or gold?
If you answered the first in all three, you are a COOL.
Your colors are:
soft white, pinks, cherry red, coral, lemon yellow, mint, jade, forest green, sky, royal, navy, lavender, plum, gray, black, and silver jewelry [ colors have a BLUE undertone ].
If you answered the second in all three, you are a WARM.
Your colors are:
ivory, tomato red, peach, orange, rust, golden yellow, lime kelly, olive, aqua, turquoise, teal, bright purple, caramel, coffee brown, and gold jewelry. [ colors have a YELLOW undertone ].
Since I don't have a picture, I'll have to make an educated guess, and say you are a SUMMER.
You would look great in pastels, any blue, and even some rosy browns.
TRY:
Eyeshadows:
mint, jade, forest greens
sky, bright aqua, periwinkle, or gray-blues
lavenders, mauves, plums
gray, charcoal [ not black ]
pale beige, cocoa, rosy brown
For accents:
white
pink
silver
Liner/Mascara:
black-brown
Lips/Cheeks:
pastel pink
rose
coral
cherry red
plum
burgundy
Try light, bright versions of makeup colors first.
A strong lip color [ burgundy ] requires a more neutral eye [ browns or grays ]; while a colorful eye [ green, blue, or purple brights ] works best with a subdued lip[ pink, coral, or rose.] Lip and cheek color should be in same color [ plum with plum ], although not necessarily as bright or as dark.
Collect tops [ first] in your brights and pastels, the colors near your face will be most flattering.
Purchase suits, or jackets with skirts or pants in your best neutrals - gray, navy, black.
Buy shoes, belts to match pants and skirts.
Collect silver jewelry to finish off your outfits! [ later, you can add 'your' stones - rubies, emeralds, sapphires, amethysts,
onyx, white pearls, and of course diamonds. ]

it can be confusing. if you are talking about the lightness or darkness of your skin it may be referred to as "intensity". your actual "skintone" is a warm, neutral, or cool tone. generally african american tones will fall into the warm or neutrals. it can be hard to just look at makeups and pick a flesh toned one. sometimes it can be tricky with darker skins because the actual color in the bottle looks very red or orange- when it fact that is the best for super dark skins. the best bet is to go to a department store or counter and ask for help. they will often be able to provide you with a sample of foundation if you let them color match you!

use neutral tones since it will balance your many tones, like loreal's line of shades for powder or foundation that has three undertone colors-cool, warm, and neutral and shades of it from very fair to very dark.
