Every cloud has its silver lining. I believe in your statement that after a terrible storm a new castle is build. this is exactly the same in life. Have a good day!

Hi Rena... your question prompts me to open up about my personal 'methodology' in handling the grayest of days.
Trouble and distress do make me pray, but rarely do I ask for anything specific... as a child, it got imprinted in my mind that there is no need to ask anything from God..... being God, He knows what is best for us.
I also keep reminding myself that I have had no proof of God's existence and I do not think anyone else has had. Yet I pray whenever in trouble or uncertainty simply because it makes the moment pass and restores some calmness and poise to my mind.
At the end of a day that I perceive to have been highly unfavorable, I close my eyes and keep praying on the bed and within a short time I fall sound asleep and wake up fresh the next morning to face another day.
I believe I am using prayer like some kind of meditation which undoubtedly helps me in various situations.
To summarize my answer, it is not a ray of hope that keeps me afloat during miserable times.... I am perhaps resorting to some kind of escapism for the purpose.

there are days when you feel like there can never be any sunlight again. you truly believe there is no hope or joy left. it rains and feels deppresive and closed in. and yet these are the days when i am happiest, calmest because, i know there is light somewhere in the world. maybe not with me but somewhere. those days are the days to examine who you are and where it is you stand. the days when you can delve into the deepest regions of your heart and say "it will be ok". i turn to god when i am sad, but also when i am happy. to me God doesnt just want to hear about how bad things are but how good they are too. i believe that with God, and my friends, i can do anything i wish to. so, yeah there's sunlight in the grayest days....because if you cant believe that, you arent going to go anywhere...you will never grow.

i believe that life is very beautiful, more so because it gives me the troubles and challenges that make me experience different kinds of human emotion, and i learn to solve all these and in the end knowing the importance of life. each day, life gets richer, more beautiful and worth-living for me, so much so, that i'm getting scared of living this life. the difficulties that i face gives me reasons to stay alive, moving forward. and i am very much excited and anxious of what more life has stored for me. when in doubt, in trouble or in distress, i turn to my parents and friends, cause i want personal contact and comfort, but in the end, the only i can turn to without criticizing or rubbing my faults in is God. i know that He Knows me, for if not, why would he grant my prayers? i know He listens to me even if there are many callers, cause life just gets better, even if a little harder. =)

I believe that God does gives us trials so that we can learn from them and appreciate the good that we do have. He also knows our limits and will push us to them but not beyond. We do have gleams of light they are call hope and as long as you have hope the grayest of days will be bearable

i believe that, tomorrow will start your new begining, what has been done today is all in the past and you can't change what happened, but you can prevent it in the future, just think with every bad day comes a handful of great days. you just have to take the negative things and turn them into something positive, and learn from them.

I just live on. Whatever happens to me will happen and it will eventually pass so I look onto the bright future to keep myself going. Somethings may seem bad at the moment, but it all eventually goes away.

That and that in the darkest night, there are stars.
Though I do love cloudy days. It brings the rain.
