no, i don't think so. if you don't trust the person to start with.......you shouldn't have them watching your kid.

No need to...the only people who are left alone with my kids are members of my family. I guess I'm quite overprotective but these days it's better to be safe than sorry. If there ever comes a time when that changes then YES I will have nanny cams all over my house, to hell with someones privacy, I will protect my babies in every way possible

I actually plan on installing a couple in my new house. However, it is not to spy on a nanny. I will be using it for my two kids (15 and 10) who will be alone for a bit after school during the week. They fight constantly and when I get home, I don't want to hear the "well he did this" and "no I didn't!". Drives me a bit nuts. I think it's time I knew the truth. :)
If I did use a babysitter, I would only use one if I suspected that she was up to something. But honestly, I generally don't let people I don't trust watch my children.

hell yes... I wouldnt trust a person watchin my kids. I dont care if its wrong. I would tell a person from the begining when hired that i hav cameras installed. why? first i dont ever want anything to happen to my kids. they will be hurt unless nanny knows she is being watched. second would be to help her stay on top....of stuff. she is gettin paid u know. and last. if i didnt tell the person and just one thing happened to my kid bad. I would beat that person sooooooooo bad i would go to jail....now how could i protect my kids:::))))

Also, I'm going to be owning a day care in a few years once I'm done college and have the money. You can bet there's going to be cameras. I want to know everything that goes on in my day care because I won't be in every room all the time so I won't always know.

Definitely... I wouldn't even care though about catching small indiscretions like letting the kids watch too much TV or not making them eat all their carrots... I'd just wanna know if she was hitting or abusing my kids while I was gone.

Yes... I would to keep an eye on my kids mostly. I've pretended to have one in the past to get my kids to tell me the truth about a fight they had.... it was priceless to watch their faces after saying "Okay, lets go watch the video tape and see who's lying".
