I am thinking of getting a vasectomy. Can someone give me some feedback on what it is like? Is it worth it? Does it affect your sex drive, erection, libido? Have you had one reversed, does the reversal work?

Getting a vasectomy is a “piece of cake”. It takes 15 min, and leaves no scar. Recovery takes 2 to 5 days. I got mine on a Friday afternoon and returned to work on Monday. I was back having sex by the following weekend.

There is not physical affect at all. Some men however have psychological effects. If the surgery was done while they were in a coma then they would never know. But unfortunately some men have this “fear”. It is, in reality, nothing but their bruised ego.

Don’t take the advice of anyone whom has never had one. Also don’t pay any attention to all the “urban legends” about vasectomies.

Don’t go into it thinking reversal is an option. Reversal is only about 25% effective and cost about $5000 at the cheapest. It is not covered by insurance. For the most part, reversal is a scam business, that is only a few steps above those SPAM mails you get every day.

If you are that unsure, ether don’t get the vasectomy, or have some sperm frozen.

I had my vasecomy done 20 year ago, at age 21. It was, by far, the best choice I ever made.

I had one 14 - 15 years ago. No ill effects. Everything works exactly the same as it did before .. Seminal fluid usually contains about 200-600 million sperm visible iunder a microscope but by reason of the vasextomy there are no semen in my seminal fluid. That is the only discernable difference... that is.. you need ot look at my seminal fluid under a microscope to tell.

I have never had a reversal. I understand that they are about 70% succesful.
