As we all know, there have been major conflicts on this forum, and I have been apart of most, along with the majority of you. Those who don't know what I'm talking about- Kudos to you!
I have developed a set of reasonable "guidelines" for this forum, if I may be so bold. I know that I have no authority, nor do I consider myself above anyone else, I am just trying to make life easier for all of us so we can enjoy the important things (our horses!)

Here are my suggestions:

-If you want to know how cute your horse is or how good of a rider you are with no critisism allowed, please put somewhere in your title- Good/nice opinions only. (though really, I don't believe we should have those questions :D)
-If you will accept critisism, you don't need to put anything special in your title, but if you wish, you may put critisism allowed.
-If you want to tell of an accomplishment, DO NOT use a question in your title, put something like: "Guess what!?", or better yet, put it under your

source, so then people will still know, and you won't cloud up the board with these questions.

If everyone takes part in this, I see no reason why anyone should have anything rude to say to anyone, no matter how much they have to hold back. Please star if you will *try* to follow, or if you at least agree!

Oh, one more. Please try to be as specific in your titles as possible. I don't like clicking on something when I think it is one thing.

Another solution would be if everyone just blocked the "mean" people they don't want to answer their questions...

If a person doesn't want me to get all fired up about sloppy backyard breeding or inadequate care, then block me. I won't see your questions and I won't answer. I also won't care.

I post in several categories on Y/A, some are very volatile and I don't block anyone. I really want to know how people who disagree with me think. Sometimes I post a question that I've been thinking about just to see how others think.

I do agree that if we as a loosely regulated community established some guidelines for people who hang out here, a lot of the squabbling would go away.

I think you have a very valid point. And, like you, I have been a part of the conflicts also. And I agree with HH on the fact that a lot of people have turned this into a "show and tell" space. And posting the same pictures over and over so someone can validate them. Same thing with the Howse questions. Post those in the video gaming section, not here in pets. I think that the best thing any us can do is park our egos at the door. Let those that want to rant on and on about how great they and their horses are and just ignore them. You are not going to change them and they do not really want to learn anything. They can give each other all the bad advice they want. If they get hurt, so be it. They are really a waste of time. For the rest of us, we can continue to answer the good questions to the best of our abilty and hope we help someone who needs it. As you know, the cream always rises to the top.

I know nothing about horses, and not much about the conflicts you mention. I am posting here to support your last suggestion; I wish some of the titles gave some clue as to what the question is about (in all categories).

Ok So I totally agree with you on your suggestions! I don't think it was too bold to put it out there, Yahoo wouldn't have so the memebers of the forum took it upon themselves and did it! I think that shows great maturity and responsibility! I likemyour suggestions and think that we ALL would be doing well to follow them:) Or at the very least try our best to follow them. Kudos to you!!!!!

I haven't been in here much lately and I don't know of the current highschool or elementary situation going on now. I am sick and tired, personally, of the dang critique me and my horse things. Share your photo's with people who ask to see them...... I am not going to judge a persons riding ability off of a photo and I'm tired of opening the questions just to find that someone has linked to yet another picture of them going over another dang jump. (can't your instructors "critique" your riding ability and tell you what you need to improve on?) For everyone that feels the need to "show off" with these constant pics and rude comments left to anyone who doesn't agree with them (that they are the best) TAY for one who had a tantrum on me for disagreeing with her use of a whip, lol. Love the childeshness of them coming back and finding my email address to "freak out" on me and tell me that they are the best thing that ever walked and that they are the best trainers in the world at 11 yrs of age, he he. They have a lot to learn!

The people that keep doing this sort of thing have issues other than just wanting opinions or help from others and I am not going to waste my time to "boost" their ego's. Or, just dare to disagree with them and provide your opinion... lol, its not worth the time, 'cause they don't really want anything other than someone to tell them they are the BEST.

This is supposed to be a place for people to ask questions, others to answer and for all to read and learn from. Lately it seems to have turned into a "show and tell"... isn't there enough places with My Space and You Tube etc. etc. to show your stuff without cluttering this Q&A. VERY IRRITATING! Shuffling through hundreds of these to find 1 valid question that is at all interesting to either read the responses to or answer the questions.

This horse section has lost the integrity that it once had and is cluttered with JUNK!

Who ever above me said, just block those people. I agree, unfortunately, that does not help us filter through the junk and I wish it would!

Anyway, I agree with you that things like this should be stated in the heading so we can just ignore them instead of wasting our time opening and closing these posts that we don't want to see in the first place. I don't however see that anyone will follow these suggestions, I bet they post more and more because we are stating that we are tired of it and it will upset them and then they will have a "tantrum" and get even with us:)

Another thing to point out, whenever any of us see something that is not a question but a show off thing... just report abuse of the site, let Yahoo decide whether or not these should be here or not.

To anyone who disagrees or is mad at me now and wants to email and tell me how you feel my email is open... I could use a laugh anyway. If you want to give me thumbs down, please do, the points in here don't matter to me... wouldn't bother me if you took all the points I have away!

Ok, there's my opinion and I'll get off that soap box now.

I totally agree. I will keep my side of the promise when i can - but some people get me mad - they ask things on horses which have nothing to do with them

Nice idea but I doubt everyone will stick with it.
Where horses are involved there always seems to be a tendency towards bitchiness - sad but true.

I just say if you don't want to answer a question, pass it up. If you get critisism, forget it!!
